Well of course we are all excited for Google plus and Larry Page's take over of the world. There will be some casualties and we are among the few.

This blog is moving to http://songofsnowphoto.wordpress.com/

In a nutshell, and I deliberately choose that word, we have been de-activated out of Google Shopping. Why? Well if you are under 30 and not a photographer, you may not understand that Kodak no longer manufactures Series 6 adapter rings so you may not understand why there is no UPC code.

The same goes for Google's program that sorts through product data, always hungering for more, and not realizing the a stereocard circa late 1800s - 1900s is not an electronic component.

Or why a vintage etching from approximately the same time period is not bar coded.

As an old timer, I am amused and saddened by the education of the finest programmers. They are brilliant, logical and well intentioned most of the time. They just don't get the rest of the world, no matter how hard they pose as real people.

So as blogs owned by Google are being brought into their vast data collection system, the reliability of access is questionable. We aren't going to fight the ever increasing demand to quantify our products. We are going to move aside because whatever they are doing, I'm sure it will be beneficial for some.

Leica M6 Camera Body Black Finish.

Condition: All functions checked correctly. We ran film in this camera, and all the shutter speeds are accurate, as well as the camera meter.

The cosmetics are very good overall, showing light wear and some minor rub to the finish. The bottom plate still has the original peel off plastic covering. It looks used in the scans, but the covering was never removed by previous owner, and so the plate is clean underneath.

Camera L seal is still intact.

Includes: M6 camera body, original Leica strap,strap lugs, body cap, instruction book (English), plastic presentation case, serial number marked product box, fresh batteries.

This camera features and specifications:

Serial number 1795292.
Manufactured 1991.
Viewfinder magnification 0.72 for all lenses.
Bright frame finder for in pairs for 28mm and 90mm, 35mm and 135mm, 50mm and 75mm.
Takes Leica, Zeiss and other M mount lenses or 39mm screw mount lenses with an adapter.
Shutter speeds B, 1 second to 1/1000, flash synchronization at 1/50 of a second.
Built in hot shoe with X synchronization.
Additional X synchronization terminal on camera back. It is possible to use both flash terminals at the same time.
Silicon photodiode metering cell.
Red LED arrows show exposure in the finder.

Vintage Nikon telephoto lens Nikkor PC 105mm F2.5 AI. Serial number 557343.

There were many variations to this lens, and it is likely that the mount is a Nikon factory AI conversion. It is best for film cameras, however it may be used on Nikon digital cameras in manual mode. F stop range 2.5 to 32. Lens takes 52mm filters.

This is one of the favorite Nikon lenses for professional photographers, and has been popular since Nikon F days. A great choice for portraits.

Condition: Used. The glass is clean, and the lens optics are clean. We tested the lens and found it very sharp. The barrel shows lots of wear, and there is a tiny bit of looseness to the focus, but it still is good working condition. Includes Nikon rear lens cap, replacement front cap

I recently bought a Series 6/42mm adapter from you - thank you.

I thought you might like to know (and pass it on to any customers who inquire) that the glass element from a Hoya 46mm filter exactly fits into the Series 6 adapter. You extract the glass element by using a pin or a very small screwdriver to prise out the circlip. The glass then drops out. I had to do this because I could not find a Series 6 infra-red filter ready-made.

It occurs to me that anyone who cannot find a Series 6 filter for a given colour could use a Hoya 46mm filter instead as I have done, as presumably Hoya make all colours in the 46mm size.

Classic professional quality 4x5 camera for studio and field work. Linhof Super Technika model III type 2.

Camera serial number 36087.
Includes 150mm Linhof/Schneider Xenar 150mm f4.5 lens in Synchro-Compur shutter.
Lens serial number 3171529.

The lens is mounted in a Linhof Technika lens board, includes serial number matched cam and focusing rail cover, front and rear caps.

This lens focuses correctly with the camera rangefinder.

The camera is compatible with a wide variety of focal length lenses, featuring a drop bed for wide angle, and a double extension rail providing approximately 400mm of bellows.

The back may be rotated into horizontal, vertical or intermediate position. The back has a popup leather focusing hood, plain ground glass and fresnel viewing screen, which provides for brighter viewing. The back has four locks, allowing individual movement for perspective control.

The camera takes standard 4x5 film holders as well as roll film adapters.

There is rise and fall in front, as well as shift for the front standard.

This camera is very well made, and was only used by a careful amateur photographer.

The Linhof Schneider lens was hand picked, and bench tested for sharpness, centering, etc. before being passed in the inspection process. Linhof only kept approximately 11 to 13% of all lens that were sent for evaluation.

Condition: The camera and lens are in very good or better condition. This is a one owner camera, and was purchased from an estate. Overall it shows only light wear. The focus is stiff from non use, and may be restored with lubrication. There is no wobble or looseness to the camera. Checked for light leaks, none found.The lens shutter speeds tested 1/2 stop slow, but they are not sticky. Lens glass is clean, coated. There are minor rub marks to paint inside the camera bed. Light rub to leather handle.

Description

Print Gocco is a Japanese color screenprinting system developed in 1977 by Noboru Hayama. Resembling a toy, the compact and self-contained printer is clean, quick and easy to use. At one time, nearly 1/3 of all Japanese households owned a Gocco. Using flash bulbs similar to those found in old cameras, an original image is thermally imprinted on a master screen.

This is the S-103 Print Gocco B6HM Kit. THIS KIT HAS NEVER BEEN USED, ALL SUPPLIES ARE INCLUDED AND HAVE NEVER BEEN OPENED. The main box shows wear from storage but everything within is as new!

Rolling down the Turquoise Trail Hwy 14 NM to Santa Fe

My first visit to New Mexico, a few years before I took the leap and moved here, was heavily influenced by a short drive down Turquoise Trail, from Albuquerque to Santa Fe.

I'm not sure if I've done the area justice, the blues of the sky are incredible, some say it is due to the altitude of Santa Fe (close to 7000). Shadows influenced by the angle of light in this area are credited to an amazing number of landscape paintings.

For some, myself included, there is nothing like the magical energy of a spring day on the road in New Mexico. Come breathe it in.

In addition, super FP flash shooting with full-speed sync up to 1/8000 sec. is available when the FL-50R or FL-36R external flash is attached. Designed for maximum durability and reliability, this newly developed shutter unit has been tested and passed 150,000 shots.

Working together, the High-Speed Live MOS Sensor with increased readout speed, TruePic III image processing engine with increased processing speed, and high-precision mirror mechanism enables high-speed sequential shooting at 5 frames per second.
