This is the M8 taken to the next level with factory upgrades to viewfinder, shutter and cover glass!

The shutter has been replaced with a new electronically controlled metal blade slotted type, which is much quieter than the original M8 shutter. The shutter does not advance until the button is released, allowing for discreet, quiet exposures. The cover glass has been replaced with a scratch resistant sapphire glass LCD screen cover . Leica is the only company that has been successful in manufacturing this type of cover glass. Only diamond is harder than this material. The upgrade includes a reworking of the viewfinder frame markings as well as the shutter and cover glass.Shutter speeds 1/4000 to 8 seconds and B. Flash sync (X) at 1/180.

• This model does not feature snapshot mode. The upgrade to this M8 was $1700, and paperwork from Leica will be provided to the buyer.
  
• Aperture priority automation, as well as manual metering with LED readout.
  
• The sapphire screen features a large 2.5 inch liquid crystal color monitor.
  
• The camera produces DNG (raw) files of 10 MP, as well as JPEG in three different levels of compression. It is also possible to save both DNG and JPEG files from the same shot.
  
• There are nine different settings for light balance.
